Thai Wah Public Company Limited (TWPC), leader of tapioca starch manufacturer and exporter, has been listed on the sustainable index for the 3rd consecutive year. This emphasizes the company’s importance on sustainability development in every aspect, affirming the Company’s growth; amid the COVID-19 crisis. Mr. Ho Ren Hua, the CEO, is confident in the 2021 performance with double-digit growth as planned.

Mr. Ho Ren Hua, CEO of Thai Wah Public Company Limited (TWPC), said the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced the Thailand Sustainability Investment (THSI) 2021, which TWPC has been selected to be 1 of 146 listed companies in agriculture and food industries for the 3rd consecutive year. This underlines the Company’s Sustainable Development with outstanding performance on Environmental, Social, and Governance aspects related to the company and our stakeholders in all areas and continued to grow sustainably towards the future.

“This reflects the Company's commitment to business operations that emphasize Environmental, Social, and Governance performance due to its sustainability-based management approaches and our stakeholders in all areas. Moreover, this helps minimize the risks and maximize business potential, even critically hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, including necessitated management decisions to ensure sustainable development by not only focusing on net profit.”

For the operating results in the second half of this year, the Company is confident of growing strongly. This is supported by increasing of tapioca starch export volume, increasing of average selling price, and the weakening baht. Furthermore, the Company ready to move towards a new business, “Bioplastic” from agricultural products, which can be 100% biodegraded and can be used for packaging and agricultural products. The bioplastic production is estimated to operate by the beginning of 2022 and gain revenue in the same year. In addition, the Company is still confident in this year’s performance with double-digit growth sale target and will hit a new record since the establishment of the Company.

The CEO of TWPC said that to driving a sustainable and environmentally friendly society in the long run, Thai Wah has joined the Thailand Carbon Neutral Network (TCNN), by promotes and supports cooperation between government organizations, the private sector, and local communities to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Moreover, the Company joint the declaration of intent with the Global Compact Network of Thailand (GCNT), aims to achieve NET ZERO emissions by 2050 – 2070. Demonstrates the strength in formulating management direction in a long-term commitment, being ready to take action to reduce GHG emissions effectively and enhancing the benefits of sustainable development from the factory level to the international level.
